Are You There?
A composite illustrating the palpable lack of connection happening during quarantine, while still being layered with the repetition that each isolated day seems to hold. Titled as a question, a reminder there may not ever be answers. What is missed pairs with what can be acknowledged, leaving a longing for resolve.
This image was created from three separate photographs. Under direction, my family members created two videos of themselves in their home on their own couch. I used their individual videos to photograph stills off of QuickTime, intentionally using slow shutter speeds and a tripod. My two photographic stills are layered on to a third self-portrait, taken in my quarantine space.
